A range of online zoom hui (huitopa) were offered to the school facilitator network in 2024.
We had 3 regional teams (Taranaki, Waitaha and Waikato) offering a regional spotlight huitopa, sharing what is inspiring in their rohe.
We got together for a fun and engaging Zoom Cafe, and finished the year with a ‘Celebrating our Successes’ zoom, looking back on the support provided in 2024 and looking ahead to 2025, celebrating all the amazing mahi that has happened and gathering feedback and ideas to help with our planning for 2025.

Feb 2024 – Regional Spotlight Huitopa – Waikato
The Waikato Enviroschools Team presented a jam packed session with examples of facilitators working in schools and with young people.
Connecting their Enviroschools strategy to their council strategy 2 ½ years ago has enabled an increase in opportunities of growing their work with Enviroschools, leading to achieving more shared outcomes.
Another enjoyable Zoom Cafe was held on 22 May, attended by around 30 Enviroschools facilitators. This year we had three ‘spotlight’ sessions, which were recorded, as well as other small group kōrero sessions.
Aug 2024 – Regional Spotlight Huitopa – Waitaha Canterbury
The Waitaha/Canterbury facilitation team shared a wonderful spotlight presentation for our network, reflecting on their journey and celebrating success and learnings.
Nov 2024 – Regional Spotlight Huitopa – Taranaki
The Taranaki Enviroschools team of Lauree, Sue and Richard shared about the different ways Taranaki Enviroschools have been engaging with schools – climate change mahi – through the kahui ako – and working collaboratively in the environmental education space.
